Mairin Kelly - (Artist, Tulla Studios, East Clare)
I found Maud's website training course to be excellent. By the end of the two days I had the bones of the site made and felt confident about completing it. Speaking as somebody who needs a lot of hand-holding in the computer arena, I found Maud to be patient and clear in her instruction. I regularly update my site and have since built a second site, completely unaided. I would be very happy to recommend her training course.
Life in the Sloe Lane - Lorraine Dowling (Accountant, Mum & Gardener):
The course was set in the very relaxed enviroment of Campbell's Tavern, Cloughanover. Maud was just great, presenting it very informally with no pressure to get things right first time. The individual assistance was most helpful in guiding us to write great text & devise a good layout. No programming involved so it's very straightforward and you've a site up & running by the end of the first day. Maud took a genuine interest in each one of our websites, keeping in contact in the weeks that followed to assist us further in maintaining the sites.
Encore Ennis - (Emma Comerford, IT specialist for retailer Bernie O'Flaherty)
I'm still buzzing after yesterday. Really enjoyed it myself - such a positive experience after battling with Dreamweaver for so long - we all had the notion you were good but now it has been confirmed! Thanks Maud
Jack's Story - Jack Lynch (Actor, Writer & Storyteller)
I'm very proud of the site as are my users who remark on '... its attractiveness, simplicity, practicality and ease with which you can navigate - unfussy and the colour is lovely ...'
Friends of Mali Ireland - Dr. Elizabeth Healy (Fund Raiser / Philantrophist)
Enjoyed the one-to-one tuition, meeting the other people, the excellent resource material & the thorough follow up help.
Hunger in Our World - Clydagh N.S. - (Working with 3rd, 4th & 6th Class in this rural Headford School. Principal Eileen Gleeson)
The children got so much out of this experience - I could leave them running their own company after all this IT work!
Majic - Masters in Applied Journalism (Interactive Portfolio Showcase for the post graduate MAJ students, NUI, Galway)
The course was excellent, I feel I learned a lot about sub-editing in the short time we had. Designing the website was a very good exercise; it’s a pity that we’re only getting it finished as the course finishes. If I had any main recommendation it would be that the module should be two semesters long rather than one. That would have given us the chance to work on the website from the off and really develop the site and brand as we progressed through the course. - Eoin Ryan
Man Made Images - Marcel & Martha Otten (Gallery Owners, Co. Donegal)
The training was most useful and put us on the right track for developing our own website - our old site (created by a third party) was unsuitable for our photo-gallery: too much text, not enough images. The two day training covered all the bases and filled us with the confidence we needed to create our own website. We've succesfully updated the site five times already - getting to know the Moonfruit package better and better with each update. Maud is a brilliant instructor and as to the training itself: we can highly recommend it to anyone who's interested in learning (more) on how to create and update a wesite - very user friendly, in our experience. Nothing but the highest praise for all that Maud has done.
Donegal Global Communications Web Training, Spring 2008 (on which Marcel & Martha Otten were participants)
commissioned by Maura Logue, Local Community Arts Officer & Traolach Ó Fionnáin, Donegal Arts Officer
it was evident that all who attended the Global Communications WebTraining for artists, saw it as a valuable learning experience. All had successfully overcome blocks to learning and it was noted that a very special “shared learning” atmosphere with positive communications and inclusive interactions among participants was a strong feature during the training. This came about as a result of the atmosphere of trust created by Maud Hand and her vision regarding assimilation and management of the participants during the training.
